The Vikings' armament was very diverse and included axes, swords, spears and javelins, bows. In Kievan Rus Vikings were known as Varangian's. Varangian's druzhinas were the rock of Russian Knyazy (Dukes). The Vikings were recruited into the elite Varangian Guard of Byzantium Emperors.
