Pinewood is characterized by its uniform texture and fine grain. It can be glued with white glue ( PVA glue ) and can be easily worked with the most common tools, making it an ideal material for the construction of models, crafts , and other decoration and modelling work .
Traditionally it has been used in dioramas , naval modelling , railway modelling , aero modelling, but it is very useful in the construction of scenery elements for wargames and other board games to create for example houses, stairs, and all kinds of structures.
It has a light yellow colour with a slight grain and is very easy to polish, varnish and stain. To paint you always have to primer or filler, especially if you are going to paint with acrylic paints.
