This 1/35 scale M2HB .50 Cal Machine Gun Set is designed specifically for M48 Patton tanks as used during the Vietnam War, allowing you to accurately depict both internal cupola and externally mounted commander's gun configurations.
The kit includes multiple mounting options to reflect real in-theatre practices, from cupola-mounted arrangements to externally fitted pedestal and improvised mounts commonly seen on M48A3s in Vietnam.

On the M48 Patton, the M2HB .50 cal served as the commander's primary defensive and anti-aircraft weapon. Most M48 variants were originally fitted with a cupola-mounted M2HB intended for remote operation from within the turret. In Vietnam, however, many crews found the internal arrangement restrictive and difficult to service.
As a result, commanders frequently mounted the .50 cal externally on top of the cupola, gaining improved visibility and faster response at the cost of increased exposure. The M2HB proved invaluable for infantry support, convoy security, and urban combat, becoming one of the most heavily used weapons on Vietnam-era M48s.
