Metallic Details MDR14464 1/144 Martin Baltimore Mk.V Bomber
The kit consists of highly detailed, high-quality 3D-printed resin parts, photo-etched parts, a vacuum-formed cockpit canopy and decals to decorate the model. All components are produced using modern manufacturing technologies to ensure accurate geometry, fine surface detail and a realistic scale appearance.
The Martin Baltimore Mk.V was a twin-engine light bomber developed in the United States and used primarily by British and Commonwealth air forces during World War II. The Baltimore was developed from the earlier Martin Maryland and combined good performance with relatively heavy defensive armament for an aircraft of its class.
The Mk.V was one of the later production versions of the Baltimore and featured improved defensive armament. The aircraft was used extensively in the Mediterranean and North African theatres, where it performed bombing, reconnaissance and tactical support missions.
Baltimore aircraft served mainly with the Royal Air Force, South African Air Force and other Allied units. Although built in the United States, the type was not adopted for operational service by the U.S. Army Air Forces, and most aircraft were supplied to Allied forces.
The Martin Baltimore was produced from 1941 to 1944 and remained in service with some operators during the early post-war period.
