The Gloster Gauntlet Mk.II was a British single-seat biplane fighter developed by the Gloster Aircraft Company and operated by the Royal Air Force during the 1930s. It represented one of the final generations of RAF biplane fighters before the transition to modern monoplane designs such as the Hawker Hurricane and Supermarine Spitfire.

The Gauntlet Mk.II was powered by a Bristol Mercury radial engine and armed with two synchronized .303-inch Vickers machine guns. Its good performance and maneuverability made it an important RAF fighter during the mid-1930s.

The Gloster Gauntlet entered RAF service in 1935 and equipped a number of fighter squadrons. Although it was soon replaced in front-line RAF service by more modern aircraft, the type continued to serve in secondary roles and was also operated by several other countries.

The Gauntlet represents an important transitional stage between the classic biplane fighters of the interwar period and the high-performance monoplane fighters that dominated World War II.
