Highly detailed 3D printed set of Soviet DA-2 twin aircraft machine guns in 1/32 scale.

The DA-2 (Degtyaryov Aircraft, twin mount) was a 7.62 mm Soviet aircraft machine-gun installation developed from the single DA aircraft machine gun. The twin arrangement combined two machine guns into a single defensive weapon installation and was introduced to increase the volume of defensive fire.

DA and DA-2 machine guns were used as defensive armament on several Soviet aircraft of the 1930s, including:

Polikarpov R-5

Polikarpov U-2 / Po-2, including armed U-2VS versions

Tupolev TB-3 heavy bomber

On the TB-3, DA and DA-2 machine guns were installed in aircraft turret mounts.

The Metallic Details set includes four complete DA-2 twin machine-gun assemblies together with separate photo-etched sights. Each assembly reproduces the characteristic twin weapon configuration, including the receivers, barrels, magazines, mounting elements and other visible mechanical details.

High-resolution 3D printing technology provides accurate geometry and fine mechanical detail, while the photo-etched parts reproduce the thin sighting elements more realistically at this scale.
