Hobby Boss 83810 1/35 Soviet T-26 Light Infantry Tank Mod.1936/1937

Having built 2 other versions of the HobbyBrass T-26 so far, I thought I'd offer my two cents. Overall, its a very good kit, with plenty of detail, that offers up a very decent model. I didn't have any fit issues, for the most part (more on that in a sec)and the build went together easily. That said, there are 2 major pitfalls. I call HB, Hobby Brass for a reason. They love giving you photoetch, even when a plastic part would suffice. What to watch for here tho is the pliability. Sometimes the PE can be very brittle. I ruined 2 fender brackets because the PE snapped. I recommend annealing the PE first before you start to use it. The second major pitfall are the tracks. In a word,...horrible. Why would they attempt to make workable tracks on a vehicle so small, is confounding. Link and length would have been a better choice. That said, if you do decide to use aftermarket tracks, I suggest you get the tracks first, before you assemble the drive sprockets. Some have had to widen the sprockets to properly match the tooth openings in the track. Get the track first, and dry fit. Otherwise, its a great little kit. Thats why I have 5 of them now!
