Beginning in September of 1944, Germany's camouflage colours were maintained while changing some shades mainly due to material shortages. The yellow shade Dunkelgelb RAL 7028 was lightened with the DG I version, and even more so in the later DG III version. The green colour Olivgrun RAL 6003 was also lightened, known after the war as Resedagrun RAL 6011. On several occasions it replaced Dunkelgelb as the base colour for the vehicle, along with camouflage patches or stripes with Dunkelgelb and Schokobraun. The brown shade Schokobraun RAL 8017 remained unchanged, although on the vehicles manufactured during the last weeks of the war, it was replaced on several occasions by the primer colour Rotbraun RAL 8012. These changes, in conjunction with the evolution of German camouflage patterns at the end of the war, meant that the German vehicles manufactured during this period had a different and unique appearance that is highly interesting for WWII modelers.

With this Solution Book, you will be able to apply the camouflage and weathering effects to any German World War II vehicle painted from September 1944 until the end of the war. Most of the techniques and effects described are optional, and it's up to you to decide whether to apply them or not. If you want to improve your technical skills, we recommend that you try to apply them all. To obtain different amounts of weathering, you simply need to adjust the intensity of each different effect to your liking. This Solution Book shows all the products required and most appropriate to create the effects described. If you maintain the order of application and drying times shown, you will be rewarded with great results. The kit used as an example in this guide is Takom's 1/35 scale Panther Ausf. G Late Production w/IR & Air Defense Armor TAKO2121. Now choose your favorite model and let yourself be guided step by step by the hand of an expert modeler!

AMMO offers a colour set specially designed to paint the vehicle featured in this book. With this ATOM Late German Camouflage Set, you will quickly and easily have all the colours required to paint your kits of late WWII German vehicles:
